Biofertilizers

Biofertilizers are natural substances containing living microorganisms which, when applied to seeds, plant surfaces, or soil, promote growth by increasing the supply or availability of primary nutrients to the host plant. They play a crucial role in sustainable agriculture by enhancing soil fertility and crop yield. Unlike chemical fertilizers, biofertilizers are eco-friendly and do not cause pollution. They improve soil health by promoting the growth of beneficial microorganisms, enhancing nutrient uptake, and increasing resistance to plant diseases. Biofertilizers also help in the decomposition of organic matter, leading to improved soil structure and water retention. Their use reduces the dependency on chemical fertilizers, making agriculture more sustainable and environmentally friendly.
